It may not be the most luxurious cabin, nor have modern amenities such as a double vanity sink or a 55” flat screen, but it’s simple, rustic, and cozy. And to me, it’s a quintessential mountain town home – one of my favorites in our portfolio.

In Jackson Hole, we have many different styles of architecture. You have the contemporary, square homes by New West, the log homes of Ellis Nunn, the rustic homes of Dubbe-Moulder, and the modern, but organic architecture of Carney Logan Burke.

There’s no “right” style for Jackson Hole. Everyone will have their own opinion on the subject.

I welcome the different styles: I think it’s a display of the intellectual capacity and creative freedom this town has to offer.

But, back to my first point – my heart will always melt for an A-frame cabin in the woods. The longing of cuddling up by the fire, wrapped in a blanket, drinking some red wine and playing board games. What better way to escape from everything that is around us than a cabin in the woods?

What’s your favorite style?

I’m a person of routine.

For me, that means creating a structure to live by. That includes breaking a sweat before work.

I may not want to at times, but I remind myself how much better I feel not only afterwards, but also for the entirety of the day. 

It’s a matter of having the foresight to realize how I would feel in either scenario. Do I want to feel sluggish and regret the fact that I skipped out on a routine? Or, do I want to accomplish my daily goal and feel energized the rest of the day? 

That’s where I garner the willpower to get my booty out of bed and start the day off on the right foot!

The truth is, I love working out – runner’s high just takes over when I’m in the gym or running on a trail. Living a healthy lifestyle is important to me.

I’ve got some exciting news! I’ve launched my dream of having a blog — Gal Out West.

What’s my motivation for creating a blog?

Well, it’s a funny story to say the least. When traveling out of Wyoming, I, like many visitors, often get asked where I am from. For a place that gets about 5 million visitors a year, holds an annual Global Central Bank Summit, and borders Yellowstone, I am shocked by the reaction of most people.

Well, maybe not shocked at this point, but amused. Yup, amused…

“What! You are from Wyoming and dress like that!?” I wasn’t sure whether to be offended by what she thought of my hometown or grateful that she thought I had good style.

C’mon people! Is Jackson Hole still that big of a secret? 

My goal for publicizing my personal blog online is to show the beauty of Jackson Hole and the many fun adventures this place has to offer. I’m obsessed with this place – read along and understand why.

Family values and history hold an important place in my heart and have shaped who I am today. 

For, how can you truly understand yourself if you don’t know the struggles and triumphs your family had gone through to get to where they are now?

Who knows what our cocktail scene would be like if it weren’t for our world-class ski resort.

The Aprés scene in Jackson Hole is pretty on point. But look no further than The Handle Bar to find my favorite local drink: the Huckleberry Mule.

Huckleberries are indigenous to Jackson Hole and unlike it’s close relative, the blueberry, cannot be commercially farmed. So, most huckleberries are still picked by hand – a favorite activity by the locals during the summer season!

Let’s be honest – flying can be nervy for anyone. So, why pay to go on a scenic flight?

I’d asked myself that question and could not come up with an answer. But that was before I got to experience it firsthand for work.

For those of you who may not know, I work at a property management company in town called Outpost. Among other things, I’m responsible for guest relations. I connect our guests with local businesses in town and make recommendations for their trips. It’s the first workday of 2016. There’s no doubt this year will be a challenge, but I’m excited for it… As well as anxious!! 

I’m at the forefront of a new product launch coming this spring, and for those that know me, you can only imagine how eager I am to share it with everyone ?

They say that a dog may be the only thing on earth that loves you more than itself.

That’s certainly true in my case. Izzy – short for Isabelle – helped me overcome one of the toughest moments of my life. 

She’s the sweetest dog I’ve come to known and is always in a happy mood.

I’ve lived here all my life and not once did I venture out on a sleigh ride on the National Elk Refuge. I always thought it was nothing more than another tourist attraction.

But, I would gladly go again.

What’s my New Year’s resolution?

I can go on about how I would like to continue to live a healthy lifestyle or to be more adventurous and try new things. 

But, to be honest, I have been working on myself to see the light in people and treat them as if that’s all I see. I can’t control the actions of others – I can only control how I lead my life and treat those around me.
